Road route: Caimari - Escorca - Gorg Blau - Pollença - Campanet

Through an extensive route of 71,53 km, this route allows you to discover the magic of the Serra de Tramuntana.

You start in our favourite village, Caimari. Thanks to its ancient houses, its historical sites and its renowned ethnological park, this place leaves us with sublime landscapes in our minds. The route is circular, starting from Petit Caimari, which will also be the point of arrival in a few hours.

After cycling approximately 13 kilometres, you reach Escorca. Here the views become majestic. If you stop for a moment and look up at the sky, you can see the imposing Tramuntana mountains such as the Puig Major (1445 m).

The next stop is the Gorg Blau, an artificial water reservoir located between the slopes of Puig Major and Puig de Massanella. Undoubtedly, a gift of nature and the best place to rest and breathe fresh air. In addition, the Gorg Blau has a refuge where you can spend the night, a highly recommended option for the more adventurous: Espacios Naturales Protegidos-Gorg Blau .

To reach this beautiful reservoir, take a detour off the circular route. Then take the road back to Escorca and cycle 31km along the Ma-10 to reach Pollensa. Once in the town, take Carretera to Port de Pollença without entering the historic centre.

Along the way, you can find a number of bars and restaurants where you can take a break. Like the Restaurant Celler El Molí, where you can enjoy Mediterranean cuisine or simply have a drink and continue your journey.

Once you have recharged your batteries, return to the road along the Ma-2200 to reach Campanet, going around the village along carrer de la Serra, without entering the town centre. The surroundings of this place do not go unnoticed, the succession of valleys and mountains creates postcards.

Mountain Bike Route: Lluc-Purgatori-Fornasets-s'Espinal-Coll Romani-Tancas d'Alt

The route is a circular route of 28.29 km, which starts on the old Lluc road to reach Sa Llengonissa, crossing es Purgatori and es Fornassets. This route is perfect for connecting with nature and the harmony of the place.

Following the path, you reach the Coll de sa Batalla section (576m above sea level), which deserves a special mention; it has very exciting hairpin bends and a descending area that allows you to rest your legs while you enjoy the wonderful views of the Tramutana.

At the end of this route, you will find a bar that bears the same name as the site, an ideal place to refresh yourself and recharge your batteries.

Altitude gain: 430 metres

You continue your journey towards Font de s'Espinal. Here, you can appreciate the old carriage tracks and the incredible passage of time.

You then head towards Coll des Romaní and resume the path until you reach Ses Tanques d'Alt, a good place to take a break and prepare for the last stretch.

After a varied route, you return to the old road to go down to Caimari. When you start to see the olive trees on the sides of the paths, you are close to the finishing point!

It is worth remembering that in Caimari, at the end of November, the Feria de la Oliva in Caimari , an event that is highly recommended for good food lovers.

Partiendo desde Caimari, recorres la Tramuntana a través de dos rutas asombrosas, donde predomina la naturaleza, historia y aventura. Ambos recorridos circulares, te permiten regresar a tu punto de partida y disfrutar de un buen descanso en nuestro Petit Caimari.

Ahora sí… ¡Qué empiece la aventura!

Ruta carretera: Caimari - Escorca - Gorg Blau - Pollença - Campanet

A través de un extenso recorrido de 71,53 km, esta ruta te permite descubrir la magia de la Serra de Tramuntana.

Inicias en nuestro pueblo preferido, Caimari. Gracias a sus casas señoriales, sus sitios históricos y su reconocido parque etnológico, este lugar nos deja en la retina paisajes sublimes. El recorrido es circular, partes desde el carrer de Nostra Senyora de Luc, que será también el punto de llegada en unas horas.

Después de pedalear aproximadamente 13 kilómetros, llegas a Escorca. En este lugar las vistas se tornan majestuosas. Si te detienes por un instante y miras al cielo, puedes observar las imponentes montañas de la Tramuntana como el Puig Major (1445 m).

La siguiente parada es el el Gorg Blau, un embalse artificial de agua que se encuentra entre las faldas del Puig Major y del Puig de Massanella. Sin duda, un regalo de la naturaleza y el mejor sitio para descansar y respirar aire puro. Además, el Gorg Blau dispone de un refugio para pasar la noche, una opción muy recomendada para los más aventureros: Espacios Naturales Protegidos-Gorg Blau.

Para llegar hasta este precioso embalse, desvíate de la ruta circular. Luego, retoma tu camino hacia Escorca y recorre 31km por la Ma-10 para llegar a Pollensa. Para acceder al pueblo, ingresa por Carretera al Port sin adentrarte en su centro histórico.

En el camino, puedes encontrar opciones de bares o restaurantes para tomar un descanso. Como el Restaurant Celler El Molí, donde puedes deleitarte con la cocina Mediterránea o simplemente beber algo y continuar el trayecto.

Una vez recargadas las pilas, vuelve a la carretera por la Ma-2200 para llegar a Campanet, rodeando el pueblo por el carrer de la Serra, sin acceder al casco urbano. El entorno de este sitio no pasa desapercibido, la sucesión de valles y montañas crea postales.

En esta ocasión, te recomendamos visitar las cuevas de Campanet Patrimonio, naturaleza y artesanía , y apreciar los fenómenos geológicos en más de tres mil metros cuadrados de galerías y salas.

El viaje ha sido largo, pero ha valido la pena. Para cerrar el circuito, retornas al punto de partida, recorres los últimos 6,4 km por el Camí de Selva y llegas nuevamente a Caimari.

Ruta Mountain Bike: Lluc-Purgatori-Fornasets-s'Espinal-Coll Romani-Tancas d'Alt

El recorrido es una ruta circular de 28.29 km, que inicia por el camino viejo de Lluc para llegar a Sa Llengonissa, atravesando es Purgatori y es Fornassets. Este trayecto es perfecto para conectar con la naturaleza y la armonía del lugar.

Siguiendo la senda, llegas al tramo de Coll de sa Batalla (576m de altitud), el cual merece un inciso especial; cuenta con curvas cerradas muy emocionantes y con una zona de descenso que te permite descansar las piernas mientras te deleitas con las maravillosas vistas de la Tramutana.

Cuando finalizas este recorrido, encuentras un bar que lleva la misma denominación del sitio, un paraje ideal para refrescaste y recargar energía.

Esta ruta circular, de dificultad moderada, representa una emocionante aventura que recorre 48,67 km y tiene un desnivel positivo de 952 m. Este itinerario es perfecto para ciclistas con un poco de experiencia y para los que buscan enamorarse de espectaculares paisajes, historia y cultura.

La ruta comienza en nuestro pueblo de Caimari, donde puedes contemplar los hermosos campos de olivos y degustar su aceite de oliva de alta calidad. A los pocos metros del inicio, coge fuerzas porque ya empieza la subida a la montaña de Lluc.

Una vez llegas a Lluc, haz una parada, repón fuerzas y descubre su magia y auténtica paz. Pues, el ‘Santuari de Lluc’ es el centro espiritual por excelencia de Mallorca y punto de encuentro de peregrinación.

Para continuar la ruta, dirígete hacia Pollença mientras disfrutas del descenso. Aquí puedes hacer una parada y degustar la deliciosa comida mallorquina en los numerosos bares y restaurantes de la localidad. Por ejemplo: U Plaça, justo en la plaza mayor.

Finalmente, sigue la ruta hasta llegar de nuevo a Caimari. Este tramo más llano te ofrece la oportunidad de explorar la zona interior y recuperar el aliento antes de finalizar el trayecto.

Si lo tuyo es descubrir parajes naturales de esos que se quedan grabados en la retina y estás en buena forma física, toma nota. Se trata de uno de los recorridos circulares, en bicicleta de carretera, más populares de la Sierra de Tramuntana. La distancia total es de aproximadamente 64 km.

Inicia la ruta en Caimari y sigue las indicaciones hasta Lloseta. Pasado este encantador pueblo de interior, sigue dirección Binissalem. Por el camino, puedes disfrutar de la comarca de Es Raiguer, llena de cipreses y olivos. Continúa la ruta dejando a un lado Consell y Santa María del Camí.

Una vez llegues a la altura de Santa María, dirígete hacia el tranquilo pueblo de Bunyola y queda maravillado con sus vistas panorámicas. El siguiente punto de interés hacia donde debes dirigirte es el Coll d'Honor, un paso de montaña situado en la falda de la sierra de Alfabia. Desde allí, continua hacia Orient. A diferencia de las dos anteriores, esta ruta es para BTT. Se trata de una atractiva aventura en bicicleta de montaña de unos 23 km que recorre Caimari – Lluc - Caimari. La dificultad es moderada y el desnivel positivo es de 875 metros, lo que supone el desafío perfecto para ciclistas o amateurs que se encuentran en buena forma física.

El itinerario comienza en Caimari, el enclave mágico para el cicloturismo. Desde allí, tienes que subir por el Camí Vell hasta llegar a un descenso algo técnico. Realiza este descenso con precaución y vuelve a subir, esta vez, por Can Gallet. Ahora solo tendrás que bajar por el otro lado hasta llegar al famoso Monasterio de Lluc. Durante este recorrido experimentas todo tipo de sensaciones: el encanto del entorno natural, la dificultad de los senderos técnicos y subidas exigentes y, ¡la adrenalina de los descensos!

Finalmente, regresa a Caimari a través del Camí Vell. A lo largo de este trayecto, en casi unas cuatro horas, puedes explorar los caminos más auténticos mientras respiras aire puro.

Mejor época para el cicloturismo en Mallorca

The Pou Major : on the outskirts of the village, we find the Pou Major, one of the best preserved common wells of the island, in a small cobbled square with a porch, with more than six centuries of history.

The "marjadas" : the growth of the population in the 19th century forced the clearing of communal lands. This gave rise to the characteristic stone terraces (marjades), a sign of the landscape of the region, with their small huts and porches.

The ethnological park : Since 2002, Caimari has housed an important area of 3,000 m2 that illustrates the traditional economic uses integrated into the territory, such as the “rotlo de la sitja”, a bread oven, a lime kiln, a snow house, etc.

Festivals, unique moments

The most deeply rooted festivals in the tradition of Caimari are those of popular and religious origin. The festivities are held on August 15, in honour of the Virgin of the Assumption, and pay tribute to the elderly in a multitudinous popular snack.

The Easter Week celebrations, in addition to being the occasion of the "Davallament de la Creu" from Es Fornassos, are the perfect excuse for the pancaritats or pilgrimages that each neighborhood organizes outdoors around the village.

Nor could not miss the classic weekly market , which is held here on Mondays on the main square.

But perhaps the highlight in Caimari is the Fira de l'Oliva with the olive as a central element (here is the program for 2021 ), which is held on the third Sunday of November and celebrates its twenty-fifth aniversary in 2022. The olive of Caimari

The culture of olive oil has been part of Caimari's identity for more than a thousand years, as attested by the numerous olive trees around the town. With the Romans, the olive-growing activities began in the area, which have never stopped since then.

The best testimony of the rootedness of the olive and the oil in Caimari we have it in Sa Tafona de Caimari , a local oil mill that produces one of the best olive oils in Mallorca , with visitable facilities and a museum area to discover, during the Fair, the traditional elaboration of olive oil.

Routes and hiking in Caimari

Another famous activity in Caimari is hiking. We propose three routes of different durations and difficulties to get into the landscapes of Caimari:

Comuna de Caimari : a circular route of about 7 km and medium difficulty that starts in Es Fornassos, takes us to the top of Puig de sa Creu and returns us, among breathtaking panoramic views, to the upper part of the village.

Mirador de Caimari : a short circular route of just 3 km and low to medium difficulty , with some ascent, that offers wonderful views from the viewpoint of sa primera volta and es Castellet.

Plain of Selva : another circular route of 11 km and low difficulty , touring its villages and hamlets (Selva, Moscari, Binibona) between fields of almond trees, dry stone walls and traditional farmhouses.

Cycling/BTT in Caimari

If walking is one of the best ways to discover the surroundings, cycling routes provide an extra point of dynamism.

Here are three examples:

Camí Vell de Lluc : the ancestral pilgrimage route that crosses the mountains on its way to the monastery runs parallel to the Ma-2130 along the GR222; 17 km round trip with good slopes for MTB lovers.

Caimari - Coll del Miner : a classic MTB route in Majorca, with about 45 km, moderate technical difficulty and quite steep slopes that takes us to the north, first between cliffs and crossing the Campanet plains afterwards.

Caimari - Coll de sa Batalla - Col de Sa Calobra : 100 % road route with two demanding passes and 60 km , if done in a circular route, that takes us through the mountain range and up to the rugged northern coast of the island.

How to get to Caimari?

Caimari is relatively close to the main road that connects Palma de Mallorca and Alcudia, the Ma-13 road , but at a sufficient distance to guarantee a preserved environment.

The most usual is to arrive from the capital , Palma de Mallorca, about 40 km away. distance. Just follow the Ma-13 to Inca and then take the secondary road Ma-2130 (exit 25, direction Selva).

From Alcudia (about 30 km away) you can also get there by the Ma-2130, taking exit 30. There is an alternative route through Campanet and Moscari (Ma-2131).

By public transport , the bus line 312 that connects Muro and Lluc stops in Caimari (linking in Inca with the 301 and 302). In Inca you can also take the train to Palma, Sa Pobla or Manacor.

Caimari, la joya del Raiguer

La comarca del Raiguer tiene una personalidad muy marcada dentro de la isla de Mallorca. Enclavada entre la Serra de Tramuntana y la llanura mallorquina, disfruta de lo mejor de ambos mundos: un entorno natural agreste y una tradición agrícola profunda. Caimari, en el corazón del Raiguer, es el mejor exponente de ello.

Caimari se extiende a los pies de la sierra, bajo la vigilancia de los picos de n’Escuder, sa Creu y Masanella. Entre los riscos, abundan la vegetación mediterránea y las cuevas, de las que parece que el pueblo ha tomado su nombre . A su espalda serpentea el viejo camino entre valles y laderas hasta el monasterio de Lluc.

Con apenas un millar de habitantes e integrante del municipio de Selva , Mallorca tiene en la tranquila localidad de Caimari excelentes ejemplos de arquitectura rural perfectamente integrada en el paisaje, tradiciones artesanales muy dinámicas y diversas opciones de ocio de exterior y gastronómico.

Atracciones con mucha identidad

¿Qué ver en Caimari? Ante todo, un ejemplo de autenticidad rural mallorquina. Nos adentramos en un armonioso conjunto arquitectónico de casas solariegas (con Son Albertí, que da origen al pueblo, como máximo exponente), iglesias (dos buenos ejemplos de la sobria arquitectura religiosa rural mallorquina) y plazas (empezando por la Plaça Major).

Si profundizamos un poco más, descubrimos aquello que hace único a Caimari en Mallorca:

El pozo mayor : a las afueras del pueblo, nos encontramos con el Pou Major, uno de los pozos comunes mejor preservados de la isla, en una plazoleta empedrada con soportal, con más de seis siglos.

Las marjadas : el crecimiento de la población en el siglo XIX obligó a la roturación de tierras comunales. Surgieron así los característicos bancales de piedra (marjades), señal del paisaje de la comarca, con sus pequeñas casetas y porches.

El parque etnológico : Caimari acoge desde 2002 una importante área de 3000 m ² que ilustra los usos económicos tradicionales integrados en el territorio, como el rotlo de la sitja del carbonero, un horno de pan y otro de cal, una casa de nieve, etc.

Las fiestas, momentos únicos

Las fiestas más arraigadas en la tradición de Caimari son las de origen popular y religioso. Las fiestas patronales se celebran el 15 de agosto, en honor de la Virgen de la Asunción, y homenajean a los mayores en una multitudinaria merienda popular.

Las celebraciones de Semana Santa, además de ser ocasión del Davallament de la Creu desde Fornassos, son la excusa perfecta para las pancaritats o romerías que cada barrio organiza al aire libre en los alrededores del pueblo.

Tampoco podía faltar el clásico mercado semanal , que aquí se celebra los lunes en la plaza mayor.

Pero tal vez el plato fuerte en Caimari sea la Fira de l’Oliva con la aceituna como elemento central (aquí el programa de 2021 ), que se celebra el tercer domingo de noviembre y cumple veinticinco años en 2022. No obstante, la relación de Caimari con la oliva va mucho más atrás…

La oliva de Caimari

La cultura del aceite es parte de la identidad de Caimari desde hace más de mil años, como atestiguan los numerosos olivos milenarios que pueblan la comuna. Con los romanos arrancaron las actividades olivareras en la zona, que nunca se han detenido desde entonces.

Rutas y senderismo en Caimari

Otra de las actividades privilegiadas en Caimari es el senderismo. Proponemos tres rutas de diferentes duraciones y dificultades para adentrarnos en los paisajes de Caimari:

Comuna de Caimari : una ruta circular de unos 7 km y dificultad media que arranca en Es Fornassos, nos lleva hasta la cima de sa Creu y nos devuelve, entre impresionantes panorámicas, a la parte alta del pueblo.

Mirador de Caimari : una breve ruta circular de apenas 3 km y dificultad baja-media con cierta subida, que combina carretera y monte y nos ofrece vistas maravillosas desde el mirador de sa primera volta y es Castellet.

Llanura de Selva : otra ruta circular de 11 km y baja dificultad baja , recorriendo sus pueblos y aldeas (Selva, Moscari, Binibona) entre campos de almendros, muros de piedra seca y alquerías tradicionales.

Ciclismo/BTT en Caimari

Si caminar es una de las mejores formas de descubrir el entorno, las rutas en bicicleta aportan un punto más de dinamismo. Aquí tenemos tres ejemplos:

Camí Vell de Lluc : la ancestral ruta de peregrinaje que atraviesa las montañas rumbo al monasterio discurre en paralelo a la Ma-2130 por el GR222; son 17 km ida y vuelta con buenas pendientes para los amantes del BTT.

Caimari – Coll del Miner : un clásico de la BTT en Mallorca, con unos 45 km, dificultad técnica moderada y bastantes desniveles que nos lleva hacia el norte, entre riscos primero y cruzando los llanos de Campanet después.

Caimari – Coll de sa Batalla – Col de Sa Calobra : ruta 100 % de carretera con dos puertos exigentes y 60 km , si se hace circular, que nos lleva a través de la sierra y hasta la agreste costa septentrional de la isla.

¿Cómo llegar a Caimari?

Caimari se encuentra relativamente cerca del eje que une Palma de Mallorca y Alcudia, la carretera Ma-13 , pero a una distancia suficiente para garantizar un entorno preservado.

Lo más habitual es llegar desde la capital , Palma de Mallorca, a unos 40 km de distancia. Solo hay que seguir la Ma-13 hasta Inca y allí tomar la carretera secundaria Ma-2130 (salida 25, dirección Selva).

Desde Alcudia (a unos 30 km) también se llega por la Ma-2130, tomando la salida 30. Existe un itinerario alternativo por Campanet y Moscari (Ma-2131).

En transporte público , la línea 312 de autobús que une Muro y Lluc para en Caimari (enlazando en Inca con la 301 y la 302). En la misma cabeza de la comarca se puede tomar el tren para Palma, Sa Pobla o Manacor.
